John Clark is a filmmaker, writer, and Poet who has resided in Peterborough for over 4 years, and is looking to develop mixed media projects within the Deaf, Disabled and Neurodivergent communities.
He first came to attention through his introspective short documentaries, about his lived experiences with Autism, which led on to an award-winning BFI-funded short autofiction drama film "Snapshot".
From there, he gained a Metal Arts Residency. Following a Call-Out, he researched the lived experiences of those within the city that have informed a trilogy of short films "Idøle" that John has written and would require funding to realise, as it would challenge the falsely perpetuated stereotypes around the DDN communities.
He recently has created a commissioned Short Film as part of Peterborough Presents Reasonable Adjustments 2.0 commission called "What's Changed?" that focuses on various discourses regarding 30 years after The Disability Discrimination Act was passed into law, and has performed as a Finalist in Peterborough's Poet Laureate Of The Year 2026.
