My name is Sophie and I run a parent and toddler group called Our SEND Adventure for children with additional needs in the city. I set the group up after receiving my youngest son’s autism diagnosis when he was aged 2. I felt incredibly lonely and desperately wanted a safe space for my son, and people to build friendships with who could truly understand my son and his struggles. Our SEND Adventure became a lifeline for my little family, and is now a part of many local families' journeys. I’d love for the children and families at my little group to be a part of this project and to be able to share their amazing and courageous stories! I hold a weekly session on Wednesday, but I've also set up a WhatsApp group for families to access peer support 24/7, so there is always someone to talk to. You would be more than welcome to come along and chat to the families and myself.
